How long have you been performing at events?
I have been performing at events since 1998. I have done everything from wedding ceremonies to corporate events.
How much do you charge for an event?
Each event is unique, and therefore has a different cost. Please use the contact me page to submit more information for an exact quote tailored for your event. The general cost for a wedding ceremony only starts at $350. Each additional hour is $150. This includes travel within a one hour drive of Ashburn, Virginia. Corporate events have a base rate of $400 plus an additional $150 for each additional hour. Funerals and church services have a base rate of $300 for a one hour event.
How far do you travel for an event?
I happily play at events in Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland. I am based in Ashburn, Virginia, and will travel to locations within a 1 hour drive. Locations outside of that distance will incur a travel fee.
Are you able to play outdoors?
I enjoy playing outdoors, however the harp is a delicate and expensive instrument. Playing outdoors will require a level, dry surface and an area of about four square feet. At the first sign of inclement weather (precipitation, extreme heat or cold) I will have to move the harp inside.
Do you require any specific equipment at the venue?
I bring all of my own equipment. The harp is a surprisingly loud instrument and does not usually require any type of amplification.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, all events require a non-refundable 50% deposit due at the time of booking with a signed contract. No dates will be reserved until the deposit has been received.
Will I be able to select the music for my wedding ceremony?
Weddings are so beautiful and individual. I encourage you to choose the music that you feel will best fit your day. A list of songs can be found under the repertoire tab. Don’t panic if you don’t see a specific song. My repertoire is constantly changing and not every song I play is listed. Feel free to contact me about specific songs. If you have a request for a specific song that I do not know, depending on the availability of sheet music for the harp, and with enough advanced notice, I can learn it in time for your special day (additional fee may apply).
Do you teach lessons?
I love to share my love of the harp through teaching others. Lessons are taught out of my home in Ashburn, Virginia. I teach classical French style harp on a Lyon and Healy pedal harp. I teach students ranging from beginning - intermediate levels. Lessons are available for ages 8+. Please contact me for more information regarding space and pricing.
